For some, P5 marks the first time they face academic setbacks (i.e. AL6 or AL7). Without timely intervention and the right support, this can lead to further deterioration of results in Primary 6 impacting their confidence severely.

On the other hand, I have seen many students who managed to recover quickly from this setback and eventually make amazing improvements at Primary 6 and score in the PSLE to qualify for the secondary schools of their dreams – with the right support, guidance and learning strategies and with a strong partnership between schools, parents and education centres.

My name is Yang Iskandar, Principal Tutor of Edufront Learning Centre. Prior to founding Edufront Learning Centre with my wife, I was an MOE teacher and Head of Department (ICT) at Maris Stella High (Primary) School. I specialise in teaching Maths and Science at the P5 and P6 levels.

Challenges In Scoring For PSLE

Based on my over 12 years of experience teaching in MOE schools, being involved in PSLE marking exercises and preparing numerous graduating classes for the PSLE, I can fully appreciate the concerns that you may have in helping your child prepare for PSLE.
