Our Story

From One Classroom to Thousands of Students Across Singapore

Edufront Learning Centre is founded in 2012 by husband and wife team, Mr. Yang Iskandar and Cikgu Hayati Abdullah, both NUS graduates, NIE-qualified, former MOE teachers from top schools. Mr. Yang was former Head of Department for Information and Technology at Maris Stella High (Primary) School while Cikgu Hayati Abdullah was a former Malay Language/Higher Malay teacher and subject Coordinator at Cedar Girls and Damai Secondary School.

Having started from one classroom in our own home at Serangoon, we have expanded rapidly and are now operating at 5 different locations in Singapore – Pasir Ris, Jurong West, Choa Chu Kang, Woodlands and Tampines and Online classes.

We currently offered a comprehensive range of quality education programmes from preschool to secondary levels in almost all subjects. We specialise in preparing students for the PSLE, N-Levels and the O-Levels.

Methodology

We Are All About Your Child’s Success

At Edufront Learning Centre, we view ourselves as teachers and education researchers. We use research-based strategies in our teaching methodology and in the design of all our programmes with the aim to help your child learn smarter and thus achieve better academic performance in school.

Concept Mastery

Concepts of each learning unit are reinforced and mastered before proceeding to a more advanced learning level. Diagnostic testing is done to identify any conceptual weaknesses. Instant feedback and correction of flawed concepts to strengthen students’ mastery of the unit.

Meta-Cognition

Students are coached to be aware of their thinking processes, and to identify factors that hinder their own performance. Students are taught heuristics skills and strategies that allow them to perform tasks automatically, and how to evaluate their own performance/ tasks.

Student-Centred Learning

We provide a caring and conducive learning environment which takes into account the students’ needs, abilities, interests and learning styles. Students are encouraged to be active, responsible participants in their own learning.

Building Attitudes

We aim to increase the confidence level of every child through our intensive coaching programmes, instilling a “never give up” spirit in our students.

Differentiated Teaching

Our small class size ensures the feasibility of a differentiated learning experience. Varied teaching and learning materials are used based on the students’ abilities.

Every student that enroll in our programme is thoroughly assessed and we make sure that we deliver a customised teaching methodology to suit the student’s different learning needs.

Principal

Mr. Yang Iskandar

Renowned as an award-winning educator and scholar, Mr. Yang Iskandar held the pivotal role of Head of Department for Information and Technology at Maris Stella High (Primary) School. His tenure as HOD saw him pioneer the seamless integration of technology across teaching, learning, and administration, leading multiple award-winning research projects on IT’s role in Maths and Science education.

With a rich legacy of over 12 years in teaching, focusing on upper primary Mathematics and Sciences, Mr. Yang now enhances Edufront Learning Centre with his visionary leadership. Additionally, as the Programme Director for Maths and Science, he meticulously crafts the curriculum and authors a myriad of comprehensive in-house educational resources.
